The Delta boys’ varsity tennis team visited New Castle and dominated the Trojans on Tuesday evening, winning 5-0 varsity and 12-1 JV. The Eagles allowed only five games total in the five varsity matches.
Tanner Southerland won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Brandon Jackson prevailed 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Daniel Vencel raced to a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles.
Cade Brown and Mason Knight won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles, and Jaigen Glaze and Walker Boyle shut out their opponents, 6-0, 6-0.
In the JV match, Josef Zacek, Jordan Ashton, Adam Altobella, Owen Vest and Eli Arnold won singles matches. Winning in doubles were Devin McKinley/Riley Windsor, Sam Arnold/Riley Bratton, Kaiden Baty/Aidan Landis, Brad Shue/Ross Meacham, Landon Freiburger/Colin McCrady, Cooper Roach/Mason Wrisley, and Isaac Anderson/Logan Anderson.
Delta is 8-1 varsity (4-0 in the Hoosier Heritage Conference) and 6-0 JV. The 26th-ranked Eagles will play in the Kokomo Invitational this weekend agaist 15th-ranked West Lafayette as well as Kokomo and Lebanon.
