The Eagles continued their perfect run through the IHSAA postseason with a 5-0 victory over Alexandria on Tuesday evening in the opening round of the Marion Regional.
Now 19-3 on the season, Delta has won all of its sectional and regional matches so far this spring by a 5-0 score.
The 12th-ranked Eagles will try for their sixth consecutive regional title when they face Marion at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the finals.
Alexandria entered with a 16-2 record, but Delta was able to win every position in straight sets.
First off the court again was the No. 1 doubles team of seniors Maggie Manor and Tynan Dishman. They are 22-2 this spring after posting another 6-0, 6-0 victory.
Senior Abby Bamidele was next off the court. She was sharp in a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Alexandria senior Gracyn Hosier. Abby is now 18-6.
No. 1 singles player Gwen Clark continued her hot play of late. She won 6-3, 6-1 over senior Reiley Hiser for her fourth win in the last five matches.
At No. 2 doubles, sophomore Janet Wegener and senior Sara Cardemon prevailed 6-3, 6-4 over a solid Alexandria squad. Wegener and Cardemon are 19-3.
Completing the sweep was No. 3 singles player Maggie Hunt, who moved to 19-5 with a 7-4, 6-4 victory over senior Rylee Pyle.
The winner of the regional will move on to the Homstead Semi-State at 10 a.m. Saturday.
