The Eagles overcame windy conditions and a determined opponent in the final round of Saturday’s Fort Wayne Carroll Invitational.
Delta topped Mississinewa 3-2 at the Carroll Middle School courts.
Tanner Southerland won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 singles.
Sam Arnold and Dalton Royal played No. 2 doubles and won 6-0, 6-0.
After Mississinewa collected wins at No. 2 singles and No. 3 singles, the match came down to No. 1 doubles.
Delta senior Brandon Jackson and junior Walker Boyle defeated Mississinewa juniors Riley Fuqua and Ryan Scott, 7-5, 7-6 (3) to clinch the match.
Jackson and Boyle are 9-1 this season.
Delta (7-3) will host New Castle at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday in a Hoosier Heritage Conference match.
