Loss 2 - 3

The Eagles dropped a heartbreaker to Fort Wayne Canterbury in the semifinal round of Saturday’s Fort Wayne Carroll Invitational.

Canterbury edged Delta 3-2 in a match that featured three tiebreakers, a 7-5 set, and four other 6-4 sets.

Junior Adam Altobella picked up a nice win at No. 3 singles. He withstood three set points in the first set to win 7-6 (7), 6-4.

Senior Josef Zacek had a similar match at No. 2 singles but came up a little short. He withstood four set points to win the opening set 7-6 (6), then dropped the second set 4-6 and fell in the super tiebreaker 8-10 after rallying from deficits of 1-5 and 2-6 to get back to 8-9 on a beautiful down-the-line passing shot winner.

Brandon Jackson and Walker Boyle beat a solid team at No. 1 doubles, 6-4, 7-5
