Playing with three regular varsity players and four players moving up from the top of the JV, the Eagles still dominated New Castle by 5-0 shutout Monday evening.
The 9th-ranked Eagles limited the Trojans to six total games in the five varsity positions.
Junior Maggie Hunt moved up to No. 1 singles and won 6-0, 6-0. She is 9-1 on the season.
Freshman Gabby Knight won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. Junior Madelyn Haley won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.
Senior Sara Cardemon and sophomore Janet Wegener moved up to No. 1 doubles and prevailed 6-2, 6-1. They remain unbeaten at 8-0.
Playing No. 2 doubles were sophomore Gracie Williams and senior Mary Groover. They won 6-0, 6-2.
The JV team won 8-1 also.
The varsity is 7-0 entering Tuesday’s conference match at Mt. Vernon. Mt. Vernon also is undefeated this season.
