Wednesday’s all-day cold rain couldn’t stop the Eagles as they ducked inside to the Community Sports and Wellness Center in Pendleton for an indoor match against Pendleton Heights.
Delta won 5-0 in the varsity match and 3-0 in the JV match.
Junior Owen Vest was first off the court with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles. Junior Riley Bratton teamed with senior Mason Wrisley at No. 2 doubles and gained a 6-2, 6-2 victory.
Delta (9-5) remains on track for another Hoosier Heritage Conference championship. The Eagles are 6-0 in the league with one league match remaining against Mt. Vernon on Monday at Delta.
Next up for Delta is a home match today (Thursday, Sept. 23) at 5 p.m. against Lapel. The Eagles’ varsity then hosts the Delta Invitational on Saturday while the JV team goes to the Fort Wayne Carroll Invitational.
