In the second round of the FW Carroll Invitational, Delta came from behind to beat Mississinewa, 3-2, in an exciting match.
Mississinewa is ranked third in District 4 behind top-ranked Delta and second-ranked Marion. Ole Miss last week dropped a very tight 3-2 loss to their sectional rival Marion.
Against Delta, Mississinewa dominated the opening sets in singles, winning 6-2 at #1, 6-3 at #2, and 6-1 at #3.
Over the next hour, Delta clawed back and eventually claimed a 3-2 victory by winning tiebreakers at #2 singles and both doubles.
Cade Brown and Mason Knight won 6-1, 7-6 at #1 doubles. Jaigen Glaze and Walker Boyle won 7-6, 6-2 at #2 doubles.
Brandon Jackson clinched the victory with a 3-6, 6-0 (10-6) victory at #2 singles.
Tanner Southerland made a huge comeback at #1 singles, but came up just short. He trailed 2-6, 2-5 before winning five games in a row to win the second set and force a match tiebreaker, which he unfortunately lost.
